Worked pretty well. Footage was a little shaky. Might try to snug it up a bit more next time.

I don't think I've seen a GoPro used like this before...you should contact them and have this footage turned into a commercial.

Very cool. I'm a bit surprised that boxy thing stayed on at speed.

I was a little leery, but I see these guys with their 200 mph race cars, so I figured I was alright. Plus I couldn't yank it off so I wasn't too worried about excess wind.

And white tape. Tastefully done. I say, do you have any Grey Poupon? :)

To lazy to edit and upload. I'll post them up once I get around to it.

Probably good, I work better when I have someone breathing down my neck.

How shaky was it? And what sort of plans do you have for making it less so?

Where I work we've been playing with the idea of strapping them onto the planes that do flyovers of our stadium on game day, but don't really want to waste one of our GoPros on a bad shot. We tried giving one to the pilot inside the cockpit, but he put it in his lap as soon as he got lined up.

Also, which edition of GoPro are you using?

I have a couple different mounts that aren't shaky at all. In fact, I've done a few fly-overs that look pretty good when mounted in a different location on the plane. This particular spot seemed to be a little shaky. I'll see if I can find some more solid footage and post an example. I have GoPro Hero3 black and a GoPro Hero3+. Vibration seems to be less when I shoot in 60fps.

This was a somewhat spontaneous shot that I clamped to the landing gear to get footage of my buddies course. You can see a little bit of shake, but overall pretty stable. This was also shot in wide angle mode, but I think would've looked a little better in medium or narrow.

That looks pretty good. I think we'll have to try it before the end of the season. The only problem is we have to strap them to P-51s, B-52s, and Ospreys. I'm in the group that says "Fuck it, we might as well try it as long as we have the planes" but then again I don't handle the money, even though GoPros are cheap.

I've known guys to put a GoPro on fighter jets with just the adhesive mount that comes with the camera. Especially if its not an airshow demo or dogfight practice, or you could do what I did and just tape it. My favorite mount is a c-lamp with a ram mount give the least vibration. I'm positive you could find a spot on a B-52 or P-51 to mount it.

I spent some time over the weekend putting some footage together. Its mostly a video dump of several flights I've done. I like airplane noise, so there's no fancy music.

ALL of this is good. All of it. Makes me want to kick myself for not pursuing a PPL sooner... Dammit flying is awesome.

One suggestion, use a quick cross fade between cuts instead of the quick-cut. It's easier on the viewer's eyes and brain.

I love the cloud chasing. The turbo-prop footage looks sped up...

The snowy takeoff and dawn flights are magical...

My favorite time to fly is at sunrise. Crisp air, and fantastic scenery. Thanks for the feedback. The turboprop footage is sped up until right about the landing. I thought it was a cool view coming in over the ridge, but it was a long shot so I sped it up.
